Can you believe that we are fast approaching the end of 2022? Whilst the year has flown by, it’s been extremely exciting and productive for the team here at QUICKBLOCK HQ. From numerous pop-up events across the length and breadth of the UK to welcoming new team members, as well as welcoming new clients into the QUICKBLOCK fold, we’re taking a moment to look back on a fantastic 12 months.
Growth Investment
We started the year with another investment round of over £310k which was secured through Edinburgh angel syndicate, Equity Gap, Scottish Enterprise under its co-investment fund and the University of Strathclyde Inspire Entrepreneurs’ Fund. The much needed investment has allowedus to fuel the growth of the business on a global scale and reach new and exciting markets with our interlocking blocks technology. New premises
We moved! We adore our new premises on Springkerse Industrial Estate in Stirling. It’s allowed us more room for product development and to welcome partners, clients and the community into our showroom to learn more about QUICKBLOCK and our sustainable product. We launched the showroom to the public in summer and have seen many faces pass through the QUICKBLOCK doors since. We look forward to getting the kettle on for you in 2023.
Growing our team
We were over the moon to welcome a team of business development professionals to QUICKBLOCK.
Rachel Paterson joined us in July as Business Development Executive making connections with new and existing clients and supporting the business as we embark into new markets.
John Dornan is our newest member of the team starting in November as Business Development Manager, already engaging with customers to understand their requirements for sustainable construction and supporting them accordingly. A former soldier, John brings an engineering background with him and also a decade of experience in the events industry, he’s you’re go to for QUICKBLOCK pop-up events hire.
We’re excited to see how the team develops in 2023.
New products for new markets
Not only have we been attending more conferences, expo’s and pop-up events, but we’ve been supporting the events market with a sustainable solution for custom exhibition stands. This involves renting QUICKBLOCK’s interlocking blocks to create innovative shell schemes to represent your business throughout your annual events programme or investing in fully branded QUICKBLOCK custom exhibition stands.

QUICKBLOCK Defence
With news of recent investment and plans to take QUICKBLOCK solutions worldwide, we have set the Defence markets in our sights. We’ve launched several new products to the market (including a new, armoured QUICKBLOCK) and we’ve been working at building relationships in the sector to develop QUICKBLOCK solutions to a variety of challenges faced by the sector globally. Our additional funding allows us to grow the business from general civilian use to become potentially a NATO-wide supplier for troop protection and general expeditionary infrastructure. The unique compact design makes it easy to transport blocks to remote or hard-to-reach locations, such as rural settlements or camps. Crucially, our technology will help save lives in some of the world’s most high threat environments.
