The client, the Ardnamurchan Estate has a shooting range where visitors take part in clay pigeon shooting amidst some of Scotlands most stunning scenery.
Shelters are required due to the changeable, extreme weather faced in this area on the most Westerly part of mainland Britain. This area often endures extreme weather conditions (up to 100mph winds and approximately 120 inches of rain per annum).
Quick Block was identified as the appropriate building method as:
it was lightweight, portable and easy to transport to such a rural location (flat-packed on a trailer)
it could be constructed using local unskilled labour
it could be in-filled with local materials on the found on the estate
aesthetically, the olive green Quick Block works well in this setting. Blending with the landscape and the wonderful views.
