DECREASING THE CARBON FOOTPRINT OF CONSTRUCTION BY REPLACING CONCRETE BLOCKS WITH RECYCLED POLYPROPYLENE BLOCKS
QUICKBLOCK reduces the carbon footprint of construction projects by providing a rapid assembly building system with an innovative, easy-to-use block system made from 100% recycled polypropylene.
These polypropylene blocks – called QUICKBLOCK – can substitute traditional concrete blocks and eliminate the need for the use of cement mortar, thereby replacing two highly carbon-intensive materials of the construction industry.
The impact forecast uses a standard concrete block (and the required cement mortar for its binding) as the baseline, and compares to it a QUICKBLOCK of the same dimensions in order to assess the relative material, energy and transportation savings.
