The Return of In-Person Trade Shows: The Ideal Shell Scheme

Given it has been some 20 months since we all last visited a trade show, thanks to the COVID-19 Pandemic, it can be difficult to remember what it’s like to network in person. The time has come for us to get back to it and meet people face-to-face again.

This month we were lucky enough to visit two trade shows where we could show off our blocks in action. Firstly, we attended the Farm Business Show in the NEC Birmingham where we were able to show the nations’ farming community how our blocks can be used on their estates for agricultural shedsanimal pens and temporary storage buildings.  Secondly, we attended the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP) COP26 Event, MSIP is Scotland’s home for sustainable mobility, our blocks played a big part in the event furniture and infrastructure. In collaboration with the event, we created sofas, custom exhibition stands and even the main stage out of our interlocking blocks. This trade show was timed around COP26 to showcase innovative sustainable projects coming from Scotland to tackle climate change and achieve the UK 2045 net-zero targets. With our help, the event space was transformed with sustainable building materials to cater for large numbers of industry experts and exhibiting companies. We were delighted to have our QUICKBLOCK® on display at both of these events.

Entering the Event Furniture Industry

During a study from July 2021, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) found that 36% of exhibition visitors would not attend a trade show that does not have a responsible approach to sustainability, whilst 12% would be more encouraged to attend a trade show if they were more sustainable. You can read the report in full here.

At QUICKBLOCK we strive to enable improvements in the sustainability of specific sectors, one of those is the event and hospitality sector. We have witnessed the use of single-use materials to create event spaces, stands and displays and we are part of the solution to reduce this waste. Our blocks can be flexibly built into everything an exhibitor could want for a trade show. Upgrading your shell scheme with our blocks can help your business stand out from the crowd whilst showing your commitment to sustainability. The feedback we received from visitors and other exhibitors at the trade shows earlier this month was that they were impressed with the unique design and concept of our custom exhibition stands and event furniture – you can imagine their excitement when we shared that we offer all of this to order or rent!

Why use our Blocks?

Our interlocking blocks are configurable to build a stand that fits into any space. This means that no matter your trade stand size, we can create a space that is engaging, comfortable and of course, sustainable. As we create each of the custom exhibition stands, we can adapt the design around your needs, for example; we can leave space for TVs, fridges, coffee machines in the walls and create indents for shelving or plinths for product showcase.

As you may have seen, our blocks are reusable. The sustainable recycled plastic used to manufacture the blocks means they are durable and hard-wearing making them perfect to reuse at future trade shows and exhibitions time and time again. On top of this, they can be flat packed when not in use. Your custom exhibition stand and event furniture can become a synonymous part of your business as you can take it with you all over the world to be used at multiple different trade shows and exhibitions. After the show, you can also make use of the blocks to create office furniture such as a sofa or desk space.

Finally, our blocks are quick and easy to assemble and disassemble. The interlocking blocks make building exhibition stands and furniture as easy as using children’s building blocks. The temporary structures can be erected quickly making them the ideal solution for use in the events industry.

If you have been intrigued by what you have seen and think the interlocking blocks could be perfect for your next event furniture or exhibition stand, please get in touch. Our team are always available to talk through our ordering process and renting schemes.
